Our courses are organised as lectures, practical classes and workshops in modern educational facilities equipped with latest IT technology and specialist learning aids. The courses are taught by highly experienced academic staff, some of whom are people who have held the top positions in our country’s security system, and officers, who have participated in military operations abroad and many emergency and military manoeuvres, and representatives of businesses operating in the security sector.

 

NATIONAL SECURITY, 1ST-CYCLE (Bachelor’s) PROGRAMME

This 1st-cycle programme in National Security will provide you with the theoretical understanding and practical skills necessary for launching a career as a security specialist, operator or analyst in public administration structures, organisations or institutions operating in national or business security, or emergency response teams, or for serving in national military structures within the Ministry of National Defence or Ministry of the Interior, or other security-related organisations. This programme will also prepare you for the 2nd cycle programme.

ABOUT THE PROGRAMME

The primary goal of our 1st-cycle programme in National Security at the Faculty of Security Studies is to provide our students with up-to-date and useful theoretical understanding and opportunities for acquiring practical skills to support them in their future careers in institutions or businesses dealing with security issues.

The educational objective of this programme is for graduates to obtain up-to-date theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary to successfully meet the challenges of the various positions in national defence department institutions, state administration, and emergency response teams across government and local-government administrations, 
grassroots rescue organisations, services, inspectorates, fire brigades, and companies from the defence sector. Its expected learning outcome is to produce graduates who are well-equipped to solve complex national security problems.

This 1st-cycle programme in National Security is a vocational degree programme. It provides theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary in a professional career. These include crisis management, designing and servicing, and delivering products and services, in the national security sector to meet the demands of national defence department institutions, public administration bodies, enterprises, businesses, and administrative services and bodies. In addition, the programme will prepare you for the 2nd-cycle programme.

Students will learn about security theories and strategies, international relations, global, regional and local security, as these are crucial for their future career, and especially for their ability to analyse the current political situation and its possible impact on security at various levels.

 

NATIONAL SECURITY 2ND-CYCLE (Master’s) PROGRAMME

  • Crisis Management.

 

The 2nd-cycle programme in National Security complements the competences acquired during the 1st-cycle programme. It provides students with theoretical and practical skills necessary in their careers, including: in crisis management, design preparation, service provision and product supply in terms of security systems in line with the needs of the institutions subordinate to the Ministry of National Defence, the National Firefighting and Rescue System, public administration bodies, enterprises, economic entities, and administrative services and bodies. Preparing students in the fields of security strategies, international political and military relations, and global, regional and local security is important for their future careers, especially for analysing the current political situation and its impact on the state of security at different levels.

 

ABOUT THE PROGRAMME

The National Security programme offered at the Faculty of Security Studies aims at preparing its alumni to work in public administration structures, in managerial positions at organisations advocating national and international security, as well as at R&D, educational and academic institutions which deal with the issue of security.

The academic goal of education is to provide graduates with modern theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary for them to perform tasks in government and local-government administration units operating in the field of security (political, financial, military security, etc.) and crisis response. The didactic goal of education is to prepare graduates to creatively solve security and crisis management problems, also in non-standard situations, based on incomplete information. The programme ensures that the students acquire the specialist knowledge and skills necessary to take up the aforementioned positions. The 2nd-cycle programme in National Security complements the knowledge acquired during the first-cycle programme. It provides students with theoretical and practical skills necessary in their careers, including: in crisis management, design preparation, service provision and product supply in the national defence sector, in line with the needs of the institutions subordinate to the Ministry of National Defence, public administration bodies, enterprises, economic entities, and administrative services and bodies, as well as prepares graduates to undertake a 3rd-cycle programme. Preparing students in the fields of security strategies, international political and military relations, and global, regional and local security is important for their future careers, especially for analysing the current political situation and its impact on the state of security at different levels.
