A delegation from AWL, led by the Rector Commandant, Brig. Gen. Dariusz Skorupka, DSc, Eng., participated in the 4th Symposium of Military Universities in Doha (Qatar), organised by the Ahmed Bin Mohammed Military College.

The objective of this year’s symposium, entitled “Military Academies and Colleges in the Light of Current Challenges” was to exchange experiences in officer education in the light of the present and future challenges for national and international security. The processes of preparing future commanders and shaping leadership competencies in military universities formed the topic of the discussions. Attention was drawn to various conditions in the military education and training systems for officers related to the dynamically changing security environment in the world. Also highlighted was the important role of innovative technologies supporting the teaching process. The Head of the Management Institute, Lieutenant Colonel Marcin Bielewicz, PhD, presented a paper entitled “Meeting Future Challenges: Leader Development at the Military University of Land Forces” illustrating the new solutions and experiences of the University in officer education. The paper was presented during a discussion panel involving speakers from military universities from Australia, France, Canada, Qatar, Malaysia, Turkey, the United States and the United Kingdom. The visit to Ahmed Bin Mohammed Military College in Qatar was an opportunity for a meeting between Rector Commandant Brig. Gen. Dariusz Skorupka, DSc, Eng., and Major General Fahad Mubarak Al Khayareen, Commandant of the College in Qatar, during which potential areas of cooperation were discussed.
