Obtaining experience and analysing the ways of preparing for the Sandhurst Military Skills Competition were the objectives of the LFMA delegation to the United States Military Academy at West Point, which took place in May 2017.

“From our perspective, we had an opportunity to familiarise ourselves with the specificity of training soldiers and team chemistry during training in the context of evaluating the possibility of preparing the representation of the Land Forces Military Academy, in the next edition of this prestigious competition,” said Cpt. Aleksander Zieminski.

“The formula of this competition is also interesting. It requires a creative approach to solve demanding tactical tasks, outstanding fitness, the ability to work as a team and develop leadership skills in the leaders of individual teams,” added Cadet Sergeant Maciej Łukaszewicz.

The competition has for years enjoyed great popularity due to effective organisation, scale and educational formula in the field of educating cadets. This is corroborated by the participation of 50 teams from the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Germany, South Korea and Japan, to name a few.
