MILITARY UNIVERSITY OF LAND FORCES  


Between 30 September and 5 October 2018, a representative of the AWL Command Institute participated in the 52nd International Association of Military Mountain Schools Meeting at the Mountain and Special Operations School in Jaca (Spain).

The organisation associates 17 major schools and training centres from around the world which provide mountain education and training. The meeting was divided into two panels: for school commandants and the technical commission. The representative of AWL, at the forum of school and centre commandants, characterised the mountain activities of the Military University of Land Forces and filed an official application for granting the University an observer status, with a prospect of full membership in the International Association of Military Mountain Schools at the Mountain and Special Operations School. The application was granted, which crowned many years of the University’s operation in mountain training and was a token of appreciation for its endeavours presented by the most renowned military organisation of this kind in the world. At the same time, the meeting served as a forum to exchange educational experience and engage in networking in the area of training to create future opportunities for cadets and soldiers of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland in terms of tactical operations in specific mountain combat environments.
