On 16 - 17 May of the current year, the officers of the Command Institute at AWL took part in the 11th international scientific and technical conference on "the perspectives of the weaponry and technique of land forces" organised by Hetman Petro Sahaidachnyi National Ground Forces Academy in Lviv.

The participants of the conference included representatives of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, employees of scientific institutions associated with the Ukrainian defense sector as well as scientific and didactic employees from Lviv. Apart from AWL, the foreign guests included representatives of Canada, Germany and Lithuania.

On the first day of the conference, renowned professors of the Ukrainian world of science spoke during the plenary session in the main hall of the academy. The topics of their speeches concerned the state of security and internal politics of Ukraine. During breaks, the participants could see an exhibition of weaponry and equipment prepared by armament companies of the Ukrainian industry.

In the afternoon, the participants of the conference were introduced to the education system of the future land forces military personnel of the Ukrainian army, presented with the structure of the university and acquainted with the functioning of the organisational units responsible for the process of education and training.  The training and didactic base was also presented.

During the second day of the conference, the participants worked in seven thematic syndicates. There were animated discussions and personal experiences were shared.  Everyone was acquainted with the contemporary condition of the weaponry and military equipment of Ukraine's land forces.

To conclude the conference, all of its participants decided that radical improvement in land forces requires a new approach, and the technologies of the "hybrid war" require reorientation of the entire Ukrainian security sector. For the AWL delegation, participation in the conference was an opportunity to obtain current information on the usage of weaponry and equipment by the land forces of the Ukrainian army, and to gain knowledge regarding the conflict in eastern Ukraine.

At the end of the conference, a pleasurable ceremony with participation of the officers of the AWL Command Institute took place. The Commandant of the Academy of Ground Forces in Lviv, maj. Gen. Pavlo TKACZUK, awarded the representatives of AWL medals for "exemplary military service", emphasising that it was an expression of gratitude for long-standing, fruitful cooperation and exchange of information between the Universities.
