Visiting Japan

From 23 to 26 October 2019 a delegation of the Military University of Land Forces, under the leadership of the Rector-Commandant, Brig. Gen. Dariusz Skorupka, DSc, Eng., was visiting Japan.

MULF medalists

The patrol exercise "Cambrian Patrol" is an opportunity to verify one's skills in warlike conditions. This year's edition was organised for the 60th time by the 160th Welsh Brigade in Brecon and attracted over 130 teams from 34 countries.

Meeting of the Rector-Commandant with the Ambassador of Japan in Poland

The Rector Commandant, Brig. Gen. Dariusz Skorupka, DSc,  Eng., on 09 October 2019, at the invitation of the Ambassador of Japan to Poland, His Excellency Tsukasa Kawada, discussed issues related to the development of mutual relations between the Military University of Land Forces and The National Defense Academy of Japan. The meeting was attended by the Defence Attaché - Col Takashi Suzuki, and a representative of the Department of the Military Foreign Affairs of the Ministry of National Defence - Col Michał Pawlak.

Independence is in our blood

From 16 to 17 October 2019, the Polish Red Cross Honorary Blood Donors Club at the Military University of Land Forces organised the first blood donation campaign in this academic year. The event was part of the nationwide campaign "Independence is in our blood", in which MULF actively participates for the second time.

Always willing to help

Wrocławskie Hospicjum Bonifratrów [Wrocław Hospice of Hospitaller Order of the Brothers of Saint John of God] is a place where volunteers from the Military University of Land Forces not only have the opportunity to do good, but also learn what true humility, hope and desire to live mean.

Distinguished contributors to pro-defense organisations and strengthening the military capabilities of the country

On 10 October, representatives of the army and of pro-defense organisations, as well as representatives of schools where military classes function, met in the Sejm. The occasion was the ceremony of presenting congratulatory letters and commemorative medals in memory of the 450th  anniversary of the Union of Lublin by the Deputy Speaker of the Sejm, Małgorzata Gosiewska, for outstanding services rendered to pro-defense organisations and strengthening the military potential of the country.

-The General Tadeusz Kościuszko Military University of Land Forces in Wroclaw, thanks to the experienced academic staff, educates exceptional people. It is a mine of knowledge which is effectively applied by its graduates in their everyday life – said Tomasz Zdzikot, Secretary of State at the Ministry of National Defence during the official inauguration of the academic year 2019/2020 at MULF.

389 cadets who finished a basic military training at the General Tadeusz Kościuszko Military University of Land Forces in Wroclaw took an official oath.

All the professional soldiers are subject to physical education tests each year. On 11 September 2019, the physical fitness test was taken by the MULF Rector Commandant, Gen. Brig. DSc Eng. Dariusz Skorupka was awarded.

The best chess player in the Polish Army

Polish Army Chess Championship took place from 02 to 07 September 2019. 63 players joined the championship, and the tournament itself took place at the War Studies University in Warsaw. MULF Cadet won a gold medal!

On 6 September 2019, an official promotion to the first officer rank took place at the Military University of Land Forces. The promotion concerned 272 graduates of the Officer Candidate School and Medical and Military Department.

At the Military University of Land Forces a conference devoted to the issues related to security of Central and Eastern Europe has finished. This is the first conference at the Wroclaw University, which gathered so many national and foreign experts.

The Military University of Land Forces returns with a gold medal from the Silicon Valley International Invention Festival (SVIIF). The innovative process developed at the University was presented in the USA by the Vice Rector for  Science Adam Januszko, D.Sc.  Eng. Adam Januszko.

Representatives of the Military Diplomatic Corps visited the Military University of Land Forces to learn about its teaching and training offering.

The Military University of Land Forces held a scientific conference "Educating Polish Army Officers - opportunities, challenges, barriers". The speakers analysed current process of study for cadets carried out at the military academies, as well as they discussed its effective optimization.

On 27 May 2019, at the Safety Science Faculty at MULF a historical, public defence of doctoral thesis took place. It was a historical moment due to the fact that for the first time a doctoral student has a possibility to defend his doctoral thesis in the field of safety science. What is the most important, it is the first defence which commence a new chapter of the scientific life of the Military University of Land Forces.

Leadership Programme, long awaited by commanders, was established two years ago by the Military University of Land Forces. It is an excellent starting point for the implementation of LEADER DEVELOPMENT SYSTEM (LDS) aimed at comprehensive preparation of graduates to effective execution of tasks on the modern battlefield. This system will be a continuation of the Military University's achievements so far with regard to tasks related to the leadership competences development.

In accordance with the decision of the MULF Rector Commandant, Gen.  Brig. DSc Eng. Dariusz Skorupka, the Military University of Land Forces will proceed to implement new didactic and scientific projects this year. This undertaking will be modelled on the projects carried out at USMA West Point, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

The Rector Commandant, Gen. Brig. DSc Eng. Dariusz Skorupka was on a scientific internship at USMA at West Point. He was a visiting professor there. The main purpose of the stay was to identify the process of candidate officers education at West Point, and then to implement the best solutions at the Military University of Land Forces.

From 30 September to 5 November an American delegation led by Lieutenant General Robert L. Caslen, former Superintendent of the United States Military Academy at West Point (USMA), stayed at the Military University of Land Forces on the occasion of the official inauguration of the academic year. The delegation was accompanied by Major Andrew Underwood, Assistant Army Attaché of the USA in Poland.

The inauguration of the academic year is a tradition celebrated at every university. This is a celebration which ends the summer holidays and starts the time of hard work. The Military University of Land Forces inaugurated the 2018/2019 academic year at the National Forum of Music in Wrocław.

The Military University of Land Forces is preparing to send its first cadets within the international exchange with the Korea Military Academy in Seoul.

-You are given officer ranks in a special year, in the 100th anniversary of Poland’s independence. This is a distinction and a duty. You will be responsible for your subordinates, for whom you should be role models. I am sure, you will complete this task in exemplary fashion.  The Polish Army needs more officers, but also more soldiers in general, which is why you deserve utmost respect - said Mariusz Błaszczak, Minister of the National Defence, in his address to the 215 alumni of the Military University of Land Forces in Wrocław (MULF), receiving their first officer ranks.

The International Defence Industry Exhibition (MSPO) in Kielce has been a showcase of the Polish industry and a way of promoting local companies for more than 25 years. It is also where new developments in the defence sector from around the world are presented.

General Tadeusz Kościuszko Military University of Land Forces is vigorously developing international cooperation with mainly foreign military and civilian universities in various fields. International cooperation is one of the main bases for developing and strengthening the brand of the Military University of Land Forces among foreign military universities.

14 soldiers and staff members of the Military University of Land Forces, 12 motorcycles, and nearly 4 thousand kilometres of European roads are covered. The 2nd Motorcycle Rally to Commemorate General Stanisław Maczek organised by the Military University of Land Forces ended on 15 June.

A two-person delegation from the Military University of Land Forces, led by Rector Commandant, Brig. Gen. Dariusz Skorupka, DSc, Eng., visited South Korea from 29 May to 02 June.

On Friday, 25 May, a patriotic and military ceremony was held at the Monument to Captain Witold Pilecki in Wrocław to mark the 70th anniversary of his death. Representatives of the Military University of Land Forces participated in this ceremony, organised by the Commander of the Wrocław Garrison and “Inicjatywa Historyczna” (Historical Initiative).

On 17 May the delegation of Korea Military Academy (KMA), led by Superintendent Lieutenant General Wantae Kim, visited the Military University of Land Forces. The delegation was accompanied by Lieutenant Colonel Hong Soon Shin, Defence Attaché of the Republic of Korea.

The team of the Military University of Land Forces has participated, for the first time, in the prestigious Sandhurst Military Skills Competition organised by the United States Military Academy at West Point (USMA), finishing18th out of 64 squads from around the world, and obtaining the bronze SANDHURST patch.

The utilisation of a new material and cutting-edge design for an unmanned aerial vehicle – this was the innovation presented by the Military University of Land Forces at the International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva, which took place on 11 April.

A delegation from MULF, led by the Rector Commandant, Brig. Gen. Dariusz Skorupka, DSc, Eng., participated in the 4th Symposium of Military Universities in Doha (Qatar), organised by the Ahmed Bin Mohammed Military College.

On 21 March, the Military University of Land Forces was visited by Colonel Prof. Liam Collins, Director of the Modern War Institute, the United States Military Academy at West Point (USMA).

More than 4 thousand cadets, including 2 from the Military University of Land Forces, are participating in courses organised by United States Military Academy at West Point (USMA).

This is already the second programme of student exchange with the University of North Georgia in Dahlonega (USA). This project resulted from the cooperation agreement between the Military University of Land Forces and the University of North Georgia, signed by Rector Commandant, Brig. Gen. Dariusz Skorupka, DSc, Eng.

In international cooperation, the end of the year brings a lot of work. In October 2017, we completed the implementation of the innovative Strategic Partnership project, and have already started a new one – the International Military Leadership Academy.

On 5 December, all Poland celebrated the 150th birthday of Marshal Józef Piłsudski. The 100th anniversary of the regaining of independence by our country was celebrated in a special way by the Wrocław Opera. It hosted the “W stronę Niepodległej” (Towards an Independent Poland) gala resulting from cooperation with General Tadeusz Kościuszko Military University of Land Forces.

Brig. Gen. Dariusz SKORUPKA, DSc, Eng., Rector Commandant of General Tadeusz Kościuszko Military University of Land Forces, led the University’s delegation during the annual European Military Academies Commandants' Seminar (EMACS) in Tartu, organised by the Estonian National Defence College.
